Korfball

O Korfball is a mixed team sport, with controlled physical contact, mainly practiced in Europe, having its origin in the Países Baixos in 1902. The modality was developed mainly in the Netherlands and Belgium through their own initiatives and with scarce resources for the training and development of practitioners.

Em Portugal, Korfball emerged in 1982 and currently has approximately 600 federated athletes. The first contacts with the modality came essentially from PE taught across the country. Unfortunately for the sport, korfball is limited to greater Lisbon, although there are several initiatives to expand the sport to the whole country.
